The app runs out of memory
The new instance used more memory than its limit, and the system stopped it.
What you see
==> Deploy failed: instance d1c6b8 ran out of memory (limit 512 MiB) — raise the service's memory limitWhy it occurs
The new instance used more memory than its memory limit. Then the kernel stopped it: an OOM kill.
The limit is the default of the server, 512 MiB, unless the service sets its own limit.
How to repair it
Increase the limit, then deploy again.
ferry update NAME --memory 1G
ferry deploy NAMEFor local code, use ferry up NAME for the deploy.
After a deploy is live, the same kill makes Docker restart the instance. ferry status NAME shows it as restarting (OOM killed, exit code 137), and ferryd writes it in its log.
Increase the limit with ferry update NAME --memory 1G. Then run ferry restart NAME. The live instances get the new limit, and Ferry builds nothing.
See Resource limits.
