GuidesTroubleshooting
The disk is almost full
Ferry refuses a build when the disk has less free space than the limit, 1 GiB by default.
What you see
==> Build failed: not enough free disk space on /var/lib/ferry: 812 MiB free, Ferry needs at least 1 GiB (free some space, e.g. remove unused Docker images with `docker image prune`, or change the threshold with `ferryd --min-free-disk`, 0 = off)Why it occurs
The disk of the data directory, or of the Docker root directory, has less free space than --min-free-disk. The default is 1 GiB.
| Ferry tests the disk | Ferry does not test it |
|---|---|
| Before a deploy builds or pulls | Before a restart |
| Before it creates a datastore | Before a rollback |
A deploy gets the status build_failed. A new datastore fails with the same message.
How to repair it
docker image prune # removes the images that nothing uses
docker builder prune # removes the build cacheTo change the limit, start ferryd with --min-free-disk. The value 0 turns the test off.
