GuidesConnect a domain
Manage domains
List the domains of the server, test one, change the default, or disconnect one.
ferry domains # the domains, their status, the record to create
ferry domains verify example.com # check now
ferry domains default example.com # the domain service URLs are shown with
ferry domains disconnect example.com # services stop being served under it
ferry certificates # every hostname with the state of its certificateDisconnect a domain
- Ferry no longer serves the services under the domain. This is immediate.
- The DNS records stay at your DNS provider.
- If it was the default domain, the base domain becomes the default again.
The rules
| Domain | Rule |
|---|---|
The base domain (--base-domain) | Ferry always serves it. You cannot disconnect it. To change it, change the option. |
A local name (*.localhost, .test, .internal, .local) | It needs no DNS. Ferry does not verify it. It gets no certificate. |
| A connected domain | A server can have 20 connected domains at most. |
Ferry refuses a domain that puts a service on a hostname that another service has. Example: the hostname is a custom domain of another service.
