GuidesConnect a domain
The three steps
Give the domain to Ferry, create one DNS record, then wait for the status Active.
Connect. You give the domain to Ferry. Its status is pending.
1 / 4
Connect the domain
Open Server → Domains. Click Connect a domain. Enter the domain: example.com.
The window shows the DNS record to create, with a button to copy each value.
The domain starts as Waiting for DNS (pending). Ferry serves nothing under it.
Create the DNS record
Add the record that Ferry shows at your DNS provider. See The DNS record.
| Type | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
A | * | The public IP address of the server |
Wait for the status Active
Do nothing: Ferry verifies the domain each 15 seconds. When the names under the domain reach the server, the status becomes Active.
When the domain is active
- Ferry serves each web service and static site under the domain. No deploy is necessary.
- With HTTPS on, each hostname gets its certificate in seconds.
- If the default domain was a local name such as
localhost, the new domain becomes the default domain.
