Quote the references

Put a value with a reference in single quotes. If not, your shell changes it.

Your shell reads each command before ferry gets it.

A reference is a value in the form ${{…}}. It points to a datastore or to a service.

Your shell also uses $ and {. Thus it tries to expand the reference.

Do it

Put the full KEY=value text in single quotes.

Exit codes and errors

Each ferry command stops with an exit code. An error goes to stderr with its cause.
