Install the CLI

The ferry binary comes from the same build as ferryd. You copy it to the machines that control Ferry.

One build makes two binaries: ferryd and ferry.

Do it

Run cargo in the Ferry repository. Installation tells you what the build needs.

sudo install -m 0755 target/release/ferry /usr/local/bin/

ferry --version

The command prints the version of the CLI.

ferry is one binary. It has no runtime dependencies.

Copy the file to each machine that must control Ferry. Then log in.

Set up the CLI

The ferry command sends each of your commands to the API of your server.

ferry login connects one terminal to a server. You approve the terminal in the dashboard.
