Create your account
A Ferry server has one administrator account, with an email and a password.
Open the link
While the server has no account, the banner ends with a link. Open it in a browser.
Create your account: http://127.0.0.1:7878/setup?code=5b0e…Enter your email and a password
The password must have 8 characters or more. The setup code from the link is in the form already.
Click Create account
Ferry creates the account and signs this browser in to the dashboard.
This account is the only user. There are no other users, teams or roles.
The account controls the full server
A person who signs in can deploy code and read each environment variable of the server. Do not open the API to the internet without HTTPS. See Security model.
After the account exists
The banner ends with this line. You sign in to the dashboard with your email and password.
Connect the CLI : ferry loginThe account needs the setup code. Thus only a person who can read the terminal of the server, or its data directory, can create it.
The code is also in <data-dir>/setup_code (mode 0600). ferryd deletes this file when the account exists.
ferryd status prints the link again.
Run ferryd reset-password on the server. It asks for a new password two times and signs each browser out.
If the API is not at the default http://127.0.0.1:7878, the line is ferry login --server <url>. The banner does not print a token.
