ReferenceBlueprint spec
Redis and Key Value
An entry of services with the type redis or keyvalue creates a Redis datastore, not a service.
services:
- type: redis # or keyvalue
name: cache
plan: starter # 256 MiB of memory
- type: web
name: hello
envVars:
- key: REDIS_URL
fromService: # the reference to the datastore
type: redis
name: cache
property: connectionStringtype: redis (or keyvalue) creates a Redis datastore with the name of the entry. Render names it a key value store.
What Ferry creates
| Part | Value |
|---|---|
| Image | redis:7-alpine |
| Password | Ferry makes it. |
| Data | Append-only persistence |
maxmemory | 3/4 of the memory limit |
A Redis that is full refuses writes. Thus the kernel does not kill it. See Redis and its memory limit.
The keys that Ferry reads
| Key | Notes |
|---|---|
type | redis or keyvalue |
name | The name of the datastore |
plan, memoryLimit, cpuLimit | The limits. See Resource limits. |
Ferry ignores each other key (ipAllowList, maxmemoryPolicy…) with a warning.
Use it from a service
Write fromService with type: redis or keyvalue, as in the example. See Reference properties.
