Limits and the size of the server
A limit is a ceiling. Ferry does not check that the sum of the limits fits the server.
the CPU limit (8 CPUs) is more than the Docker host has: capped at 4 CPUsA limit is the most that one container can use. It does not reserve memory or CPU. Nothing checks that the sum of the limits fits your server.
A limit above the server
| Limit | What Ferry does |
|---|---|
| A CPU limit above the CPU count of the Docker host | Ferry lowers it to the CPU count. The deploy log tells you, as in the example above. |
| A memory limit above the memory of the host | Ferry accepts it with a warning. This limit protects nothing. |
