Create your account

Open an SSH tunnel to the private API, then create the administrator account in your browser.

The tunnel brings port 7878 of the server to your machine

The API listens only on the localhost address of the server. An SSH tunnel makes it available on your machine.

Run this command on your machine, not on the server.

Terminal

ssh -N -L 7878:127.0.0.1:7878 you@your-server &

The dashboard is now at http://127.0.0.1:7878 on your machine.

Copy the Create your account link from the log of the server. Open it in your browser.

The password must have 8 characters or more. Ferry creates the account of the server and signs you in.

Create the account immediately

Until the account exists, each person who can read the link can create it.

Run this command on the server. It prints the link again.

Terminal (on the server)

sudo ferryd status --data-dir /var/lib/ferry

When the account exists, the line Connect the CLI : ferry login replaces the link.

Start ferryd

Three commands load the unit, start ferryd now and at each boot, and show its log.
