When a deploy fails

A failed deploy never changes what is live.

A failure before the image is ready gives the status build_failed.

The deploy keeps a one-line error. The engine also writes it in the log:

Deploy log

==> Build failed: …
==> Deploy failed: …

Status	The failure was
`build_failed`	In a step before the image was ready
`deploy_failed`	At the start of the instances, or at the health checks

What to do

Correct the cause. Then deploy again.

Terminal

ferry deploy api --follow

Or roll back to an earlier deploy.

A deploy log

The deploy log shows each step of the pipeline, with the output of the build and of the containers.

Cancel

What a cancel does depends on the state of the deploy.
