Create the DNS record

Point the custom domain to the server with a CNAME record or an A record.

At your DNS provider, point the domain to the server.

Domain	Record
A subdomain, like `shop.example.com`	`CNAME` to a name that resolves to the server (for example `shop.apps.example.com`), or `A`/`AAAA` records
The apex, like `example.com`	`A` (and `AAAA`) records with the IP addresses of the server

Wait for the DNS

Terminal

dig +short shop.example.com

Run the command again until it shows an answer. Then the name resolves.

Before you add a custom domain

The server needs HTTPS on, and port 80 open to the internet for the test of Let's Encrypt.

Add the domain to the service

Add the custom domain with the CLI, the API or a blueprint. The proxy routes it immediately.
