Add the domain to the service

Add the custom domain with the CLI, the API or a blueprint. The proxy routes it immediately.

ferry domains add shop shop.example.com

You can also give --domain to ferry create, ferry update and ferry up. You can repeat it.

The routes the domain immediately. No is necessary.

Domains that Ferry refuses

  • A name that is not valid.
  • An .
  • The default host of a service: <name>.<domain> under a domain of the server.
  • The host.
  • A domain that another service has.

Remove a domain

Terminal
ferry domains rm shop www.example.com

The proxy stops the route immediately.

Create the DNS record

Point the custom domain to the server with a CNAME record or an A record.

Wait for the certificate

Ferry asks for the certificate some seconds after the proxy routes the domain. Follow the request, then test the site.
