A Docker image
Ferry pulls an image that exists and runs it. It builds nothing.
Ferry pulls the image from the registry.
1 / 3
Create a service from an image
ferry create hello --image nginx:alpine --port 80The image comes from a registry. The runtime of the service becomes image.
When Ferry pulls the image
| Tag of the image | Ferry pulls it |
|---|---|
No tag, or :latest | At each deploy |
| Each other tag | Only when the image is not on the server |
The pinned image
A pinned image is the exact image that one deploy pulled. Restarts, crash replacements and rollbacks run that image.
Public images only
Ferry has no registry authentication.
If you set a start command, it replaces the command of the image. Ferry runs it with sh -c.
