Domains of the server

A domain of the server gives each public service a name under it, with one DNS record.

You connect example.com and create one wildcard DNS record.

A is a name that Ferry serves your services under. Connect example.com: then each and also answers at <name>.example.com.

One (*.example.com) covers each service, present and future.

The three names

NameMeaning
The first domain of a server (--base-domain). Ferry always serves it.
Connected domainA domain that you add. It starts as pending.
The domain that Ferry shows service URLs with: the dashboard, ferry open, FERRY_EXTERNAL_URL.
