Docker keeps the result of each build step. A step that did not change does not run again.

The of Docker makes the next builds fast. Docker installs the again only when a manifest changes: package.json, requirements.txt, go.mod…

Build with no cache

Terminal
ferry deploy api --clear-cache

In the dashboard, open the Manual deploy menu. Choose Clear build cache & deploy.

The two ways run docker build --no-cache. Use them, for example, to get new versions of dependencies that have no pinned version.

Secrets in a build

Ferry gives the variables to a build as BuildKit secrets. A secret does not stay in the image.

Images and retention

Each deploy has its own image. Ferry keeps the newest images and deletes the older ones.
